Welcome to the official website of CUWLC, the 2012 BUCS Champions!
The Cambridge University Women’s Lacrosse Club (CUWLC) was founded in 1912 and is arguably one of the most successful female sports club at the University. The Club enters 2 teams into the BUCS Leagues (British Universities and Colleges Sport): the Blues play in the Southern Premier, while the 2nds (the Kingfishers) play in the Midlands 1A League. Both teams also compete in the annual Varsity matches - the Blues are defending Varsity Champs for the past 6 years running.
The squad has around 40 players – a number of whom represent their countries at international level. CUWLC looks to strengthen its squad annually and continue to work from and strive off its past achievements, to sustain its position in current leagues, and honour its prestigious status as a Cambridge Full Blue sport.
The 2011-2012 season proved to be an immensely successful one for CUWLC. The Blues won the Southern Premier League with an unbeaten record, defended the Varsity title over Oxford, and capped off a dream year with a victory over Birmingham in the BUCS Championship. The Kingfishers also had a great season, finishing 3rd in the Midlands 1A League and reaching the 2nd round of the BUCS Trophy tournament.
The Women's team is proudly sponsored by Credit Suisse.

Cambridge won 9-8
Cambridge Women’s Lacrosse Blues beat Birmingham 10-9 in a dramatic and hotly contested BUCS Championship Final held in Sheffield. This victory sees the Blues end their season unbeaten, having won Varsity, their BUCS league and the Championship. But Birmingham were determined to spoil Cambridge’s party, pushing them right to the wire and forcing them to produce their very best lacrosse to finally steal the victory and break the hearts of their opposition.
